On 2014 March 21, Mr. Geng Yi , Managing Director of Myanmar Wanbao Mining Copper Limited(MWMCL), accepted an interview of Kumudra Journal (a local media) and answered for clarification that regards with the recent conditions on ESIA report which has reported on a local media. We are keen to make the Letpadaung project
"as transparent as clear water".
This is a clear message that Mr Geng Yi, Managing Director of Myanmar Wanbao, made at a China-Myanmar non-governmental exchange meeting in Yangon on March 13, 2014.
Mr Geng also called on the government, partners, communities and related stakeholders to assume their own responsibilities to move on the Letpadaung project, which is still at a stalemate due to disruptions.

With balloons flying and people cheering, two primary schools with a total investment of 60 million Kyats by us were transferred to villagers of Taung Pa Lu and Htan Taw Gyi when ceremonies were held on February 25, 2014.Earlier, the newly-built Kindergartens in Wet Mhay-Kan Taw and Sae Tae-Zee Taw new villages were completed and transferred to local people.The investment in the kindergartens totals 13 million Kyats.

Knight Piesold, an Australia-based internationally renowned consultancy responsible for the compilation of the ESIA report for the Project, will commence public consultations on Friday, March 7, 2014 with 33 project-affected village on the ESIA. The meetings will last around 6 weeks.
